Office of Ionian Village Administrative Intern

Job Description:  

The Office of Ionian Village is looking for an Office Administrative intern who is passionate about youth ministry and the Ionian Village programs.  The ideal applicant will be energetic, self-motivated, and will have strong organizational skills.  As a result, the candidate will cultivate and practice time-management, attention to detail and learn to be adaptable.  The intern will have the opportunity to progress in clerical duties and develop a deeper understanding of youth ministry practices and camp management.

The Administrative Intern carries out administrative and programmatic work, providing support to the Director and Assistant Director of Ionian Village.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain various databases including CampMinder and Constant Contact;
  • Coordinate scheduling for IV On-the-Go programs and promotional events across the Archdiocese
  • Assist in Marketing and Promotional efforts and general mailings with the Communications Department;
  • Assist in monitoring correspondences: email, telephone, etc. as needed
  • Assist with logistics coordination for IV On-the-Go and IV Promotional trips throughout the year;
  • Coordination of camp staff and parent/camper communication and record maintenance;
  • Suggest fundraising efforts for the continuation and development of Ionian Village programs;
  • Assist Assistant Director with all departure and arrival days from JFK International Airport, including traveler check-in, facilitation of flight connections, preparing chaperones, and dealing with any issues that may arise;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as delegated.

  • Punctual, reliable, and organized
  • Critical thinking and decision-making
  • Able to operate within strict budgeting parameters and manage finances responsibly
  • Proactive and timely on projects, from start to finish
  • Experience in an Orthodox camp setting (administrative or staff) preferred but not required

Benefits

The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese is offering this Summer Internship Program for 2024. This program is for 8 weeks from June 3 to August 2. This internship program is being funded by a Leadership 100 Grant. The grant provides:

  • Stipend of $4,800.00 ($600.00 per week) 
  • Travel expense $25.00 per week for each intern
The intern will work in the NYC office Monday through Friday's from 9am to 5pm. There will be a 30-minute meal period. This internship is part of Co-Hort group that will also work on a company project together. This group will provide a presentation to the Senior Leaders during the last week of the intern program.
